Peter Browning has proposed some changes in roles designed to refresh the 1st team and accelerate the development of players by bolstering the coaching group, whilst presenting a new challenge for Paul Tanner & Sean Birchnall. As part of the moves, Steve Stairs will take on an important new role.
Paul & Sean will join a strengthened coaching group, that will consist of Roy Atkin, Neil Selby, Paul & Sean. Training of 1st & Reserve squads (plus some invited Development/Youth players) will be combined to allow for more concentrated coaching by playing position. The club will seek a new Reserve team manager and assistant, and if you have any thoughts in this direction can you please let Peter know. Paul & Sean will continue to run the Reserve side until suitable replacements are indentified and ratified by the Management Committee.
Steve Stairs will take on a Director of Football type position, where he can use his considerable experience in an over-arching role, to identify and bring through young talent, which is essential to the future well-being of the club.
All the people involved are happy with the proposals which will be put into effect as quickly as possible. The players have been informed of the changes.
